How it works

Four steps, and then you can stop thinking about it.

01

Make your family

Name it, then paste in everyone’s email addresses. Children get managed profiles instead of accounts — a parent keeps their list for them, and no data is ever collected from a child.

02

Everyone adds what they’d like

Paste a product link and the picture, title, and price fill themselves in. Or just type what you want — a title is all we need. Add a note about size or colour while you are thinking of it.

03

Claim what you’re buying

Open someone’s list and take something. Everyone else sees it is taken, so nobody doubles up. Claim two of the three paint sets and leave one for somebody else.

04

Nobody gets spoiled

The person whose list it is sees their own items and nothing else — no claim counts, no "3 of 12 taken", no email that quietly gives it away. That holds for the person who set the family up too.

Common questions

Does it cost anything?
No. When someone buys a gift through a link here, the shop pays us a small commission. You pay the same price you would have paid anyway, and we never mark anything up.
Do grandparents need to make an account?
No. The invite email contains a link that just works — tap it and you can see the lists and claim gifts. A password is offered, never required.
Can the organiser see what people bought for them?
No, and this is not a setting they could change. Claim information is excluded from their view at the database level. Being the family head only means you can manage who is in the family.
What about the kids?
A child gets a managed profile rather than a login — a name, a birthday, and a list that a parent keeps for them. Parents can see the claims on their child’s list so two people do not buy the same bike, and can turn that down to just their co-parent if they want a surprise of their own.
I’m in two families. Which list do I use?
The same one. Your list belongs to you, not to a family, so it shows up in both — which is exactly what stops your mother and your mother-in-law buying you the same coat.
What if the link I paste does not work?
You still get the item. We keep your link exactly as you pasted it and you fill in a title — everything else is optional.
